Nostalgic Filipino cuisine inspired by a Southern Kitchen
At Soul Sarap, we craft Filipino cuisine using Southern cooking methodologies. Chef Litisha Franklin’s mission is to honor underrepresented Filipino communities by honoring her own roots through big, bold, and daring flavors.
We’re currently serving food up throughout Southern California at pop-ups, dinner parties, and small catering events.
As a child, I spent a lot of time in the kitchen whether it was watching my dad cook catfish or helping my mom roll lumpia. I come from a big family of two cultural backgrounds, and food was a staple in both. Family gatherings were the times we got to reconnect with each other and eat great food.
As I grew more in my cooking career, I turned to my Filipino and Southern-American upbringing for not only inspiration, but to also develop my palate. Blending these cuisines together creates something unique, beautiful, comforting, and nostalgic.
